Food Lovers’ Day Tour: Privately Catered Cooking, Lunch & Drinks Full Day Experience Exploring the Mythical Peloponnese from Athens or Nafplio
€600
It’s for food lovers … while exploring Greece’s famous locations! A private full-day experience of exploring & tasting real Greece. A food tour, but also all about the landscape and sites of the most famous region in Greece; the Mythical PELOPONNESE.
Why this tour?
☼ It is not the typical “traditional Greek food” you could book for yourselves in touristy Athens.
☼ We have a personal connection with both the locations we visit and the people.
This means we know the coffee man, the ouzo place, the locals, the winery people, the monk in the monastery, the cook that caters to the special food for us, and all the local small businesses.
You’ll watch & enjoy a privately prepared lunch from the perfect Greek housewife & cook! See Greece with the eyes of not only your expert driver/tour leader but of the locals that will cater to your private feast! Important: We’ll provide the wine from the most famous vineyard area in Greece; the picturesque Nemea of Corinth (the Greek Napa Valley) that we pass on the way to the Arcadia mountains. While preparing your lunch, we will have the chance to explore one of the cliff-hanging monasteries in the Arcadia mountains and watch local life & people that very few visitors would experience.
Two cliff-hanging monasteries on each side of the gorge
A unique experience to explore, see, and “taste” the real hospitality of authentic Greek people, all with the help of your tour leader.
Duration: 9-10 hours Language: English Departure: 8:00 a.m. from Athens or Nafplio
You can book this tour online now. The pricing shown is for 1 or 2 people (not per person).

This is a “different” food and culture tour away from the usual touristy “stuff”. Ideal tour for those looking to visit some amazing sites at an authentic “Greek” location facing the gorge of Mainalon range. For up to 8 (related only) people but we can do bigger groups too.
1] Corinth Canal
Corinth Canal. The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus (canal) of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island.
2] Nemea Wine Tasting Area
We stop and pick up our wine from one of the many wineries of Nemea; the Greek Napa Valley.
3] Arcadia Mountain villages
We climb up the Arcadia mountain range of Mainalon with its famous European hiking trails to visit the stonebuilt villages such as Dimitsana, Stemnitsa, Laggadia, and more hidden spots.
4] The Food Experience; the highlight of the tour
Baked feta
We do a short drive through the Arcadia mountains to meet your lady cook for today enjoying Greek coffee or even Ouzo on the way. She will open her home for us to watch and taste her traditional cooking. And of course, we will know all about your likes & dislikes to make lunch a treat! Vegetarian? Just let us know in advance. Easy! This is Greece.
There are several additional exploring options depending on the available time.
☼ We can visit one of the amazing cliff-hanging monasteries until our lunch is ready.
☼ Lousios River: Exploring the amazing Lousios gorge and the river while waiting to be treated to our lunch & drinks.
☼ Stemnitsa. The jewelers’ village! Beautiful, authentic, stone-built!
☼ Dimitsana stone-built village above Lousios river & gorge!
☼ Private tour.
☼ Hotel, Airbnb, or cruise ship pickup and drop-off.
☼ Private driver/guide.
☼ Non-smoking vehicle and driver.
☼ Lunch & drinks, of course, included with no limits or fixed menu. All part of your privately catered/cooked delicacies from our Greek housewife & cook, and based on your information about your likes & dislikes.
