Leave the city behind and enjoy a private food-and-wine tour from Athens to the Peloponnese, discovering the flavors, landscapes, and authentic spirit of one of Greece’s most beautiful and fertile regions.
This carefully designed Peloponnese private tour combines cultural highlights, local gastronomy, and authentic experiences. Throughout the day, you’ll explore the charming town of Nafplio, enjoy an olive oil tasting, savor a traditional Greek lunch, and finish with a wine tasting in the renowned Nemea wine region.
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Athens, crossing the impressive Corinth Canal, where the Peloponnese peninsula meets mainland Greece. This narrow waterway carved through towering cliffs offers a striking first glimpse of the region’s dramatic geography and fascinating history.
From here, we continue through the peaceful countryside toward Epidaurus, home to one of the most remarkable ancient theaters in the world. Those who wish may enjoy a short visit to admire the famous theater, celebrated for its astonishing acoustics and timeless beauty.
The day then turns to one of the most treasured elements of Greek culture: olive oil. At a small, authentic olive press near Epidaurus, you’ll learn about the traditions of olive cultivation and production that have shaped Greek life for thousands of years. During a guided olive oil tasting, you’ll sample exceptional extra virgin olive oils along with local products made by the family that runs the press.
After this introduction to the flavors of the Peloponnese, we continue to Nafplio, one of the most beautiful towns in Greece and the country’s first modern capital. With its Venetian architecture, elegant squares, and lively harbor, Nafplio offers the perfect setting to experience authentic Greek life.
Before lunch, we pause the Greek way — perhaps with a small glass of ouzo or tsipouro accompanied by meze, just as locals do before a meal.
You’ll then have time to stroll through Nafplio’s Old Town, wander its narrow marble streets, admire the waterfront, and take in views of the impressive Palamidi Fortress, famous for its legendary 999 steps.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a carefully selected local restaurant where you can savor traditional Greek cuisine made with fresh regional ingredients. This relaxed meal in Nafplio is a highlight for food lovers and an essential part of this Peloponnese food tour.
In the afternoon, the experience continues with a drive through the vineyards of Nemea, one of Greece’s most important wine regions and home of the celebrated Agiorgitiko grape. At a local winery, you’ll enjoy a guided Greek wine tasting, discovering the rich winemaking tradition of the Peloponnese while sampling carefully selected wines.
This progression of olive oil tasting, a traditional lunch in Nafplio, and wine tasting in Nemea creates a beautiful culinary journey through the Peloponnese, allowing you to experience the region’s most important flavors as locals have enjoyed them for generations.
With the tastes of olive oil, Greek cuisine, and Peloponnese wine still lingering, we return comfortably to Athens after a full day immersed in the food, culture, landscapes, and authentic traditions of the Greek countryside. This private Peloponnese food and wine tour offers a perfect balance of gastronomy, history, sightseeing, and local experiences — ideal for travelers who want to discover Greece beyond the typical tourist path.

☼ THE ANCIENT THEATER OF EPIDAURUS
☼ NAFPLIO OLD TOWN & PALAMIDI FORTRESS (999 STEPS)
This private tour from Athens can be combined with other day tours to create an “experience” … a multi-day tour. Nafplio, Epidaurus, and Mycenae are all places located at the “entrance” of the most famous region of Greece, the Mythical Peloponnese, with its limitless destinations.
(a) The above tour can be combined with the cosmopolitan island of Hydra and the historic island of Spetses on a three-day tour:
These are reminders and additions to things you have already read in other sections.
All our tours include lunch and drinks, and all multi-day tours include quality accommodation. Professional guide, dinner (on multi-day tours), and all kinds of tickets (sites, trains, boats, etc) are not included. You can read more about “What is included & excluded in our tours and why!” from our FAQs-not-4-DUMMIES.
☼ To keep our vehicles fresh and comfortable, we ask that guests avoid eating or drinking (except water). Water is always available, and we’ll stop along the way as needed if you need to snack.
☼ Fish and seafood are not included in our budget, as their costs cannot be estimated with sufficient accuracy in advance. Pescatarian guests are invited to enjoy our delicious vegetarian cuisine during the tour. In the evenings, we’ll recommend the best spots for fresh seafood so you can experience it at your leisure. Got allergies, several restrictions, or foods you don’t enjoy? Tell us in advance, and we’ll do our best to please you!
☼ After you book, we will ask for some of the following: any food allergies, a single passport number (required by local authorities), names of all passengers, luggage details, pickup/drop-off locations, and a WhatsApp number, which is very helpful during the tour.
☼ Luggage is typically not included on day tours. In other situations (multi-day tours or transfers), we expect a maximum of one checked bag per person [65x40x25 cm or 26x16x10 inches] and a carry-on or backpack. We do not allow luggage on the vehicle’s seats or in your laps to protect both our passengers and our vehicles. If you have additional luggage, please let us know in advance. We can arrange for a larger vehicle or help you store part of it. We may have to cancel if you … surprise us!
☼ If you are too tall or heavy, we need to know in advance! If we have advance notice, we can arrange the appropriate vehicle. Please use 225 lbs (105 Kg) as the maximum weight you need to inform us of. If in doubt, please let us know your weight and height before you book, and we’ll get back to you. It’s not a personal question, but for your own comfort! We can use a larger vehicle if we have advance notice.
☼ An adult must always accompany children (minimum age is 8 years). Please let us know if anyone gets car sick! Greece is not flat!
☼ Due to uneven surfaces, most tours are not suitable for people with mobility impairments or wheelchair users. We apologize for this, but if the sites don’t or can’t accommodate people with mobility issues, we can’t help.
☼ We are flexible on tour duration, so there is no rush during the tour. We also expect you to be reasonable and respect your driver/tour leader’s efforts. Sometimes there are specific restrictions (like not missing the sites’ closing times during the off-season or catching a train, boat, etc.) which will “dictate” our itinerary/timing and require your full cooperation!

If an alternative is not available or acceptable you will be entitled to a full refund.
Eudaimonia encourages all clients to communicate as early as possible concerning cancellation issues which could allow the agency to offer a better refund – partial or full- to a client despite the standard cancellation policy described in this document. This is a decision not to be discussed with or disputed by the client and will be made entirely by Eudaimonia to better serve the client if it is possible.
Eudaimonia itineraries are flexible, and if possible, the requirements of clients will be facilitated. Eudaimonia reserves the right to vary, modify, or cancel any itinerary, either partly or wholly. The Client agrees to all the above when booking any of Eudaimonia’s tours and services.
