Hydra Island from Athens by Commercial Passenger Boat With your Private Guide: A Day Tour to the Most Cosmopolitan Island

€430

This is a trip to a “real Greek” island. Board the commercial passenger boat with your guide and arrive at Hydra island within two hours, enjoying the amazing blue of the Saronic Gulf.

This is NOT a private boat trip. Your tour leader will pick you up from your Athens hotel, drive you to the port to board with you the passenger boat. He/she will guide you while in Hydra, allowing you to also have your private time to enjoy lunch & drinks. The boat ride is around two hours past Aegina (from a distance) & Poros (stop) islands!

Hydra is a trendy and cosmopolitan island that at the same time maintains its magic and peacefulness due to the all-year-round presence of the locals and the absence of any kind of vehicle! We love the island because Hydra is also one of our three bases, so we consider as home to our agency.

Private Tours Athens Greece

A tour for those looking for a different approach to the popular but extremely touristy “3 island cruise” to Aegina, Poros, and Hydra islands. It will allow you to really spend your time on the “important” island instead of 90% sailing with very limited time on each island.

On Hydra, everything inspires tranquility, relaxation, and a gentle way of life. It is not surprising that artists from all over the world find inspiration in the atmosphere of Hydra. It is THE most exclusive and romantic island in the Saronic Gulf. A true pearl unique by its scenery. A “car-free” island meaning that no vehicles -at all- are allowed. The only means of transportation are the cute island donkeys & mules, boats, and on foot.

Duration: 8-10 hours

Language:  English

Departure: Approximately 8:00 a.m. from Athens and return around 18:00

You can book this tour online now. The pricing shown is for 1 or 2 people (not per person).

We start from the center of Athens and your hotel. It is a short drive to Piraeus port for the boat pickup that will take us to Hydra island within (approximately) two hours and usually via Poros island too. The great views from withing the fast passenger boat (hydrofoil) trip will allow you to see many small and bigger islands of the Saronic Gulf surrounded by the amazing and hard-to-believe blue of the water.

Hydra island is a great relaxing but cosmopolitan alternative to the craziness of Mykonos and Santorini! The hiding place of many recent celebrities but also from the past including Jacky Kennedy & Onassis, John Lennon, Maria Kalas, Sophia Loren, and many more.

You will have enough time to take photos and explore at your pace spots such as:
☼ Statue of A.Miaoulis & the Merchant Marine Academy.

Hydra

☼ Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

☼ Walk from Hydra port along the coastline to Kaminia port and back to Hydra town/port around the back streets.

Hydra

☼ The Lazaros Kountouriotis Museum.

Hydra

☼ Square of the Five Hydriot Prime Ministers & Rafalias Pharmacy.

Hydra

☼ Sophia Loren’s windmill.

There are limitless places next to the water for enjoying lunch, drinks, coffee, and/or dessert before we ride the boat to return to Piraeus port and then to your Athens accommodation.

☼ Private tour for one or up to eight related only people.

☼ Hotel pickup and drop-off.

☼ Private driver/guide.

☼ In-car bottled water & information booklet about all the details of the tour.

☼ Flexible itinerary.

☼ Pickup and drop-off in areas outside of Athens (additional cost).

☼ Boat return tickets are 64 EUR/person which we pre-book for you to secure seats.

☼ Lunch & drinks. Your guide will only suggest where to enjoy lunch, snacks, or drinks.

☼ Gratuities (optional).

The total price (not per person) for 1-2 persons is €430.

For larger groups of 3 to 8 related people (couples, groups of friends, or large families) please contact us to get the best rate depending on the exact number of people and their age group. Also, if you are just a single person we will provide a discount. For 1-3 people a brand new (2018-22) 4-door sedan is used, whereas for 4-8 people a large 2019 minivan is used for the transfers from your Athens hotel to the port and back.

Payments made by Paypal are subject to an additional cost of 5%-6% (payable on the day of the tour) and correspond to the fees Paypal charges on all transactions.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TOURS AND SERVICES

[If you booked your trip prior to January 1, 2021, the Booking Conditions you agreed upon when you made your booking still apply]

(A) Cancellation Policy for the day or half-day tours or transfers:

☼ Cancellations made greater than 15 days prior to the scheduled tour date will be fully refunded minus expenses and/or services fees.

☼ Cancellations made between 7 to 15 days prior to the scheduled tour date will be refunded 80% of the agreed total tour fee.

☼ Cancellations made between 7 days to 48 hours prior to the scheduled tour date will be refunded 50% of the agreed total tour fee.

☼ Cancellations made 48 hours prior to the scheduled tour date will incur a 100% charge.

All of Eudaimonia’s expenses agreed upon through the email exchange of communication concerning the day or half-day tours or transfers, such as site tickets or train tickets or bookings for the client (wine tasting, restaurants, hotels, events, etc) will be deducted from the amount to be refunded. These expenses will be explicitly mentioned in EUR (or €) in the communication between the client and Eudaimonia. The corresponding amounts will not be a matter of negotiation or proof of payment or the possibility of a refund, credit, etc from the corresponding service providers. They will be fully deducted from any refundable amount towards the client. Additionally, a service fee of 5% (of the total amount agreed) will be deducted from any refundable amount including the 15-day full refund case.

(B) Cancellation Policy for multi-day tours:

☼ Cancellations made greater than 45 days prior to the scheduled tour date will be fully refunded minus expenses and/or services fees.

☼ Cancellations made between 20 to 45 days prior to the scheduled tour date will be refunded 80% of the agreed total tour fee minus expenses and/or services fees.

☼ Cancellations made between 20 to 10 days prior to the scheduled tour date will be refunded 50% of the agreed total tour fee minus expenses and/or services fees.

☼ Cancellations made 10 days prior to the scheduled tour date will incur a 100% charge.

All of Eudaimonia’s expenses agreed upon through the email exchange of communication concerning any multiday tour, such as site tickets, train tickets, hotels booked for the client, and other bookings (like wine tasting, restaurants, etc), will be deducted from any amount to be refunded after the initial 45-day full refund period. These expenses will be explicitly mentioned in EUR (or €) and the corresponding amounts will not be a matter of negotiation depending on a possible refund, credit, etc. They will be fully deducted from any refundable amount towards the client. Additionally, a service fee of 10% of the total amount agreed will be deducted from any refundable amount including the 45-day full refund case.

(C) Special client-specific arrangements:

It is possible that there will be client-specific payments (full or partial) agreed upon through e-mail communication mentioned -for example- as “non-refundable”. Then, this will precede any other interpretations made from this cancellation policy, and it is only at Eudaimonia’s discretion to refund fully, partly, or not at all, even under certain conditions including “Force Majeure”. Therefore, it is the specific written (email) agreement between each client and Eudaimonia that can precede this main cancellation policy -if it is different- and determines the agreed cancellation policy for each client.

D) Other issues:

Eudaimonia reserves the right to make subtle changes to tour itineraries. Eudaimonia reserves the right to substitute vehicles and/or drivers should they arise. Eudaimonia reserves the right to change or cancel your booking in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. Should change and/or cancellation prove necessary we will give you reasonable notice thereof, in the circumstances, & where available, offer you a comparable alternative. If an alternative is not available or acceptable you will be entitled to either a full refund or monies paid by you to us or you can transfer to another Eudaimonia tour without payment of any transfer fee.

Eudaimonia is not responsible for the costs of any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations or rescheduling of any tour departure.

The client’s booking does not cover travel insurance. Eudaimonia strongly recommends that the client purchases travel insurance.

Dietary requirements must be requested from clients and forwarded at the time of booking or at least one week before the tour.

Eudaimonia encourages all clients to communicate as early as possible concerning cancellation issues which can allow the agency to offer a better refund – partial or full- to a client despite the standard policy described in this document. This is a decision to be made entirely by Eudaimonia in an effort to better serve the client.

VALIDITY & DISPUTES

The above terms and conditions are valid for all bookings submitted after January 1, 2021. Any tours booked/submitted on previous dates are subject to the initially agreed terms shown in the corresponding communication/email which, in all cases, would have been “non-refundable”. However, we offer credit for the rescheduling of such tours until June 30th, 2022.

Any disputes will be resolved by the Greek legal system and its laws without the need for any arbitration.

The Client agrees to all the above when booking any of Eudaimonia’s tours and services.
