Mainland Greece during the coronavirus days
The countryside of Greece -unknown to most tourists- is the best part of the country’s magic. This is true even today Wednesday, April 8, 2020, with the following figures for the coronavirus.
People can walk almost everywhere and still be safe and isolated from each other. The city people try to escape to the countryside but authorities will not allow it to keep the curve under control and us safe.
The pictures are from mainland Greece and not from an island. Just to clarify, because most tourists connect the great beaches with the islands. Wrong! Some of the (very) famous islands don’t even have decent beaches. Some of the non-touristy islands have amazing beaches & -more importantly- the Greek atmosphere & magic.
All photos were taken on March 20th while the lockdown was not too strict. Still, even today (Wed. April 8) the restrictions don’t have to be enforced! Most Greeks know what to do at difficult times. This probably explains the limited of cases & victims (fingers crossed).
Very peaceful days with amazing weather during these terrible days all over the world.
We hope people all over the world get over this epidemic as soon as possible.
So, a few moments of anxiety free walking & driving next to the water with no gloves and masks; just a cellphone & GoPro.
Spring time in Greece.
